Due to
that havoc earth-quack implications, recently radiations
have found an impact on rice, near crippled nuclear
reactors. Scientists have found prominent levels of
radiation impact on these crops and are collecting more
samples for further tests, as said by a Government official
on Saturday.
Official said that the un-harvested sample of rice contained
500-bequerel of cesium per kilogram. This cesium is leaking
from the nearby Fukushima nuclear power plant that has been
severely damaged by the recent earth-quake and tsunami on
March 11, 2011.
Rice
crop, if contains 500-bequerels of cesium per kg, is fit for
consumption- as per Japanese regulations.
Government officials have collected and tested crops from
more than 400 spots around Fukushima zone. Highest level
found was 136bequerels of cesium per kg; said by Kazuhiko
Kanno – one of the prefectural officials.
The
news of elevated radiations has hit the Japanese media
either; hence radio implications raise worries in mass.
Government officials are even testing vegetables and fish
that might be affected by radiations because the cooling
systems and generators stopped functioning as soon as
earth-quake disaster hit the nuclear reactors and the cores
melted down.
After
hearing this news, some nations have stopped importing food
products from Japan. Though Japanese nation is nervous on
this dilemma, yet some nations have shown support through
campaigns to buy food from Japan.
